Rapper T.I. is wasting no time following his release from prison last week - he headed straight into the recording studio to lay down some new songs.
The "Live Your Life" hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was transferred from an incarceration facility in Arkansas to a halfway house near his home in Atlanta, Georgia last Tuesday, after serving time for weapons possession.
He is living out the remainder of his 366-day sentence in more comfortable surroundings at Dismas Charities Atlanta West, where he is allowed out to work during the day, and T.I. is making the most of his newfound freedom.
According to GlobalGrind.com, music executive Kevin Liles alerted fans on his Twitter.com page that new T.I. music will soon be on the way.
He wrote: "My right hand (T.I.) went home to visit family & found his way to the studio. He said, 'Why wait for 2010, get it in now'. Love the attitude!"
Kanye West is preparing to rebuild his reputation with a new album after returning to the studio to work on his rap comeback. The Stronger hit-maker has been lying low since facing a backlash following his behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards in September, when he ruined Taylor Swift's big moment by storming the stage during her acceptance speech.
He apologized for the stunt shortly after the incident and vowed to take some time out to reflect on his attitude, admitting, "I need to... take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve."
However, West is ready to return to the spotlight and is back behind the microphone.
In a New Year's post on his website, West writes, "First of all, I want to thank everybody for their constant love and support over these past 6 years! I'm so happy to be back in the studio making new music. I will bring you the best I have to offer with the same dedication that Kobe (Bryant) has on the court."
And the rapper is urging his fans not to pay attention to tabloid reports in the future and instead focus on his work.
He adds, "Let us look past headlines and deal with just a bit of reality in this new decade. We have our own outlets now. We don't have to believe everything anymore."
West's last album, 808s & Heartbreaks, was released in 2008.
Lenny Kravitz confirmed the Internet rumor that he collaborated on the Michael Jackson song "Another Day," which surfaced online over the weekend.
"As you know and heard, part of the song leaked, not by me," Kravitz said in a video statement released Monday over Twitvid. "‘Cause mine has been locked up in a vault since we recorded it. The version that is out is a minute and 30 seconds, roughly, of the track- not mixed, but it is the track."
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Dubai opened the world's tallest skyscraper Monday in a blaze of fireworks, then added a final flourish: It renamed the half-mile-high tower for the head of neighboring Abu Dhabi, whose billions bailed out Dubai amid last year's financial crisis.
Long known as Burj Dubai — Arabic for "Dubai Tower" — the building rises 2,717 feet (828 meters) from the desert. The $1.5 billion "vertical city" of luxury apartments and offices and a hotel designed by Giorgio Armani also plans to have the world's highest mosque (158th floor) and swimming pool (76th floor).
Its backers wanted the skyscraper to be a monument to the boundless, can-do spirit of Dubai — one of a federation of seven small sheikdoms that make up the United Arab Emirates — but the timing could not be worse. Property prices in parts of Dubai collapsed by nearly half in the past year, the result of easy credit and overbuilding during a real estate bubble that has since burst.
Riding to the rescue was Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of oil-rich neighbor Abu Dhabi, which pumped tens of billions of dollars into Dubai last year as it struggled to pay enormous debts.

Elton John says he has been helping American rapper Eminem fight drug problems for more than a year.
John says Eminem is succeeding in his well-publicized battle against substance abuse.
John told BBC Radio Saturday that as a recovered drug abuser he is happy to help people if they want the assistance but drugs make people so cocky and arrogant that they often reject help.
Eminem has written about his substance abuse problems in the past.
Lady GaGa brought her "Monsters Ball" tour to Miami on New Year's Eve, then played to a packed house at a VIP-only after-party on South Beach.
GaGa, who's debut album 'The Fame' continues to rock the billboard charts, started the night with a performance at the James L. Knight Center in Miami Beach. AHN was there as GaGa moved from the concert to the outdoors after-party at the posh Fountainbleau Resort on South Beach.
More than 2,000 people paid between $350 to $35,000 for tables and bottle service and a chance to see GaGa perform three intense sets complete with wardrobe changes.
VIP guests partied in pool section and enjoyed an open bar stocked with Belvedere vodka and Patron tequila. Guests flew in from Philadelphia, Montreal, and even Europe for the end of the year bash. NFL football stars and Hollywood starlets like Hayden Panettiere from NBC's 'Heroes' had table service and several stars from HBO's 'Entourage' even booked a room at the hotel.
After midnight, GaGa appeared and wished the cheering crowd a "happy ******* New Year."
"I just had my first concert in Miami, so it was like a first date," GaGa admitted. "So this is like a second date and we can **** and I won't feel like a slut in the morning."
"I have the best ******* fans in the world. For those of you who are here, I love you!" GaGa added between sets.
After the show, GaGa and her back-up dancers partied in an even more exclusive VIP section above the main pool deck. She stripped down into her all-black panties and bra while she partied with celebrity gossip columnist Perez Hilton.
Lindsay Lohan lacks the focus to be a model, according to male runway star "Tyson Beckford". After a series of spreads for top publications - including a nude shoot for New York magazine - the actress recently revealed she is on the lookout for more modeling work.
But Beckford insists she'll never make it as a catwalk queen.
He tells Us magazine.com, "She has the partying part down right. But I don't think she's got the focus. I mean, it requires a lot of focus and a lot of people think they can do it, but they really find that it's a lot harder. Ask anyone - it's a lot harder than it looks. I guess that's why they call us supermodels - we make it look easy. But it's not as easy as it looks, so I wish her all the best."
